OTHER NEWS: If you wish to archive your lectures in the form of digital mp3's, IMS has equipment available.  Some faculty are using these mp3's as podcasts for their students to play back and review on their own time; accessing them from the web.

HELPFUL TIP: When playing DVDs in your NMU ThinkPad, first try to play them with Windows Media Player.  If you end up with a black screen, try InterVideo WinDVD.

Windows Media Player plays commercially-pressed DVDs well.

InterVideo WinDVD plays DVD-R discs well.

Until fixes are found, DVD-Rs will not play on Windows Media Player, nor will commercially-produced DVDs play on InterVideo WinDVD without extra tweaking.
