International Student Admissions

Application Deadlines:
Fall: June 1st
Winter: October 1st

Thank you for your interest in Northern Michigan University. Below are the admissions procedures:

1. Complete International Student Admissions Application

2. $30.00 application fee (must be in U.S. funds)

3. Official Transcript(s) - transcripts must come directly from the issuing institution.

4. Proof of finances - $22,126

A. Your sponsor can fill out the proof of finances page and have a bank fill out the bank section. Please be sure the bank and your sponsor sign the proof of finances page or it will not be accepted.

OR

B. Your sponsor can write a letter of support and provide a current bank statement that shows the proof of finances amount.

5. TOEFL Score - 173 computer-based, 500 paper based or 61 iBT. Must come directly from ETS.

6. Credential Evaluation - All educational credentials from non-U.S./non-Canadian institutions must be evaluated by an agency specializing in credential evaluation. NOTE: An evaluation of credits may be requested for some Canadian institutions' documents.
