PARENTAL NOTIFICATION POLICY REGARDING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

PURPOSE

To involve parents as partners in changing behavior regarding the use of alcohol by underage students.

APPLICABILITY

All students under the age of  21.

POLICY

The Dean of Students or designee will notify the parent or legal guardian of a student who is under 21 years of age and has had either (1) a serious alcohol or drug violation such as destruction of property or disorderly conduct in combination with the alcohol or drug offense, or (2) more than one violation of the alcohol or drug regulations of the Student Code.  Parental notification for a serious alcohol or drug violation will be at the discretion of the Deans of Students.
