Northern Michigan University is a recipient of the Carnegie Foundation’s “community-engaged campus” designation, and NMU’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department is certainly engaged with the Upper Peninsula community!
The department offers opportunities for community members in fitness programs for both the young and old, specialized training such as first aid, fitness and wellness testing and injury evaluations – to name a few of the many activities that comprise its outreach efforts.
Each year new programs and activities are offered, so check this site regularly. If you’d like more information about a particular course or program, don’t hesitate to contact us.
