Meet NMU's Professional Residence Hall & Apartment Staff

Kyle Lannon
Resident Director, Gant Hall

Kyle is originally from Menomonie, WI.  He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where he was a Wildlife Ecology - Information and Education major with a Captive Wildlife Minor.  While there, Kyle was a Community Advisor, President of the Residence Hall Association, and a Hall Manager.  Kyle also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for five years as a heavy construction equipment operator with the 106th EN Quarry Team.  Whenever Kyle  does find himself with some free time, he enjoys volunteering manual labor, hiking, geocaching, motorcycling, disc golf, exploring Marquette and playing video games.

   

Megan Niemi
Resident Director, Halverson Hall

Megan graduated from NMU with an Environmental Science degree.  She is originally from Trenton, MI and loves living in Marquette.  Megan was previously a Resident Adviser in Spalding Hall at NMU.  She enjoys anything related to wildlife, fisheries, and the outdors.

   

Grant Langdon
Resident Director, Spooner Hall

Grant hails from Edgar, Wisconsin and graduated in August, 2010 with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management from NMU.  Prior to being the RD in Hunt Hall, Grant was a Resident Adviser in Van Antwerp Hall for two years.  Grant enjoys playing video games, backpacking, and doing "geeky" things during his spare time.

Kevin Rush

Resident Director, Magers Hall

Kevin is originally from Frankfurt, Germany and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Environmental Conservation with a minor in English and Outdoor Recreation.  Before coming to NMU, he spent time working for the YMCA and AmeriCorps until he started his coursework in 2009.  While attending NMU, Kevin was a resident in Spooner Hall, and RA in Payne Hall, and a Community Adviser in the Woodland Park Apartments.  In his free time, Kevin enjoys a variety of things; he enjoys biking, snowshoeing, reading, writing, spoken word poety, exploring the restaurants that Marquette has to offer, and traveling.  While being the Resident Director of Magers Hall, he plans to pursue a Master's degree in Training and Development.

   

Jackie Jorgensen
Resident Director, Spalding Hall

Jackie is originally from Fenton, MI and graduated from NMU in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in English.  Prior to joining the Resident Director staff, Jackie served as a resident adviser in Magers Hall and a community adviser for two years in the Woodland Park apartments.  While her duties keep her busy, she has been known to enjoy running, playing tennis, scrapbooking, baking, and spending time with her family and many, many friends.

   

Kate Sartori
Resident Director, Payne Hall

Kate Sartori is the Resident Director of Payne Hall and is originally from Milford, MI.  She graduated in May 2009 from NMU with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Management and a minor in Environmental Conservation.  During her undergraduate career, she lived in Halverson Hall and worked on campus for five years, including three as a Resident Adviser in Halverson an done summer as a Community Adviser in Woodland Park.  Kate enjoys working with the students and staff of Payne Hall and has high expectations for the upcoming year.  Kate completed her Masters degree in training and development in the summer of 2011. After a year off of school she is returning this fall to begin a second Masters in Criminal Justice.  In her free time, she enjoys canoeing, kayaking biking, and playing basketball.

 

   

Cassie Kobler
Resident Director, Van Antwerp Hall

Cassie is the Resident Director of Van Antwerp Hall.  She is from Roscoe, IL, and graduated from NMU with a dual major - Spanish and Community Health Education in May, 2011.  Prior to earning her degree, Cassie was the Resident Adviser of Odyssey House in Magers Hall, was an Orientation staff assistant in the summer of 2010, and worked for the Campus Visit Program.  In her free time, Cassie enjoys running, photography, and karaoke.

   

Rhian Smith
Resident Director, Hunt Hall

Rhian is the Resident Director of Hunt Hall and is originally from Marinette, WI. Rhian graduated from NMU in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She spent the past 1 ½ working as a Registered Nurse caring for oncology and intensive care patients. While completing her undergraduate degree, Rhian worked as a resident adviser in Magers Hall. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, watching the Packers and spending time with family and friends.

   

Alexandra Marshall
Resident Director, Meyland Hall

Alexandra Marshall came to NMU in 2005 from Allendale, MI.  She completed her Bachelor's degree in English in December of 2009.  While working on her degree, Alexandra spent three years as a Resident Adviser in West Hall.  Alexandra participated in the Student Leader Fellowship Program and Superior Edge while pursing her undergraduate degree.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, and spending time outside.

   

Kimmie Conrad
Resident Director, West Hal

Kimmie, the Resident Director of West Hall, is originally from Naperville, Illinois. After attending the College of DuPage for two years, she transferred to Northern and completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time as an undergraduate, she spent four semesters as a Resident Adviser in Spooner Hall and contributed to the Live.Learn.Lead team. When she is not working, she enjoys watching off-beat foreign movies, going for walks, and playing strategy board games.

 

   

Katie Cischke
Coordinator of Apartment Services

 
Katie Cischke is originally from Southeast Michigan.  She came to NMU in 1999 and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.  Katie spent two years as a Resident Adviser in Dakota House in Halverson Hall, and transferred to the Community Adviser staff in the 1600 Lincoln Apartments for her last two years at NMU.  After completing her degree, she began working at a non-profit child welfare agency in lower Michigan.  She returned to NMU in the fall of 2008 to become the Resident Director in West Hall.  She then became the Resident Director in Spooner Hall in 2010 and was hired as the Coordinator of Apartment Services in 2012.
