Program Application

The Honors Program invites academically qualified, motivated students to apply. Normal qualifications for the Honors Program include a 3.5 high school grade point average, a score of 27 or higher on the ACT or SAT with a combined score of 1210 or higher, two letters of recommendation from high school teachers, and a written personal statement.

The letters of recommendation can be e-mailed from the teacher to honors@nmu.edu; faxed to Honors Program at 906.227.2315; or mailed to:  Honors Program, Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855. In this highly competitive program, the university retains the right to exercise judgment as to the eligibility of the applicants. 

Applications should be submitted by May 1.  Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a case by case basis.
