Why did you enroll in the Honors Program?
Mitch said that he liked the small class sizes. He also saw the Honors Program as a challenge that offered him opportunities for career development and preparation for post-graduate studies.
Is there an Honors course that has made a particularly strong impact on you?
Mitch definitely feels that Honors 111, Modern Art European Sources, with Dr. Nelly Kupper, has been the most influential course that he has taken so far. He thinks that what he's learned will stick with him for years to come; serving him well into the future.
Describe some learning experience you have had in your area of interest.
He is currently researching the impact of landing forces on the human knee, through his participation in the Freshman Fellows Program. Through working with older students, graduate students, and professors, Mitch feels that he is getting a higher level of experience directly related to his chosen career that otherwise would not be offered to a freshman.
What do you do for fun?
In his spare time, Mitch enjoys exercising, wheeling in his Jeep, dirt bike racing, eating healthy foods, and reading.
What is your favorite book?
War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk is one of Mitch's favorite books. This book is a work of historical fiction about World War II which illustrates the war on a personal level.
