Not just learning. Doing.

This winter semester, history students are heavily involved in analyzing historic census data, reviewing and organizing documents related to Upper Peninsula history and editing a book written in 1949, but never published, by an NMU education professor about the history of the university.

The Northern audio collection consists of faculty, staff, alumni and student life interviews. It also contains historical interviews concerning the university and the former J.D. Pierce School. The U.P. oral history collection includes tapes of interviews pertaining to the Ishpeming Ski Hall of Fame, iron mining, local celebrations and events.
