Volunteers and Peer Educators

Each year the Health Promotion Office provides a number of short-term volunteer opportunities for students to help out with a variety of awareness activities and events. Students often can meet course requirements for community service by assisting us during the school year.

Check out the Health Promotion Society! HPS is a group of students (not all health majors, anyone is welcome) who care about the health and well-being of themselves, and others on campus and in the community. Their major project during the year is the Wildcat Wellness Health Fair in March. They also like to volunteer, network, and do other fun health-related social activities. Check out their website or email hpo@nmu.edu for more information.

Also, the Health Promotion Office provides long-term volunteer opportunities for students as members of a campus peer education team. The membership of this group changes as students' interests and schedules change.

Those interested in becoming involved should contact the office at 906-227-1455 or hpo@nmu.edu.
