Scientists from the University of Grenoble Medical School in France found that cardiovascular exercises such as water aerobics, dance and walking are safe and beneficial for people with RA.

1. Overweight & Taking Biologics?

Here’s more motivation to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight: If you’re obese, biologics are less likely to achieve remission of RA and other forms of autoimmune arthritis such as psoriatic arthritis. 

In a recent study from Rome’s Catholic University for the Sacred Heart, 32% of non-obese people with RA who took biological response modifiers went into remission; only 15% of those who were obese did.  Why does this happen? It seems body fat releases inflammatory proteins, which worsen RA and other autoimmune arthritic conditions.
