Stepping Into Joint Health
1. Why Stretch?
Stretching is a powerful way to ease joint pain, improve flexibility and amp up your energy. That’s because letting stiffness settle into your joints and tension knot up your muscles increases overall inflammation—a real pain trigger—and may also increase joint friction.
Opening up your upper body, relaxing shoulders and strengthening your core improves posture and respiration. Increasing flexibility through your hips takes pressure off your knees, and making sure your hamstrings and IT bands are loose keeps your stride balanced and responsive. It’s no stretch to say that stretching is an essential part of easing arthritis pain!
