Graduate Programs at NMU
NMU offers over 28 graduate programs ranging from English and education to biology and exercise science. Our programs are designed to engage you in an active faculty-student exchange of ideas and to provide you with extensive hands-on learning alongside high caliber research opportunities. Our programs include master's degrees, certificates, endorsements, and a PhD program with formats including on-campus, hybrid, and online learning. NMU also offers opportunities for funding. A limited number of competitive Graduate Assistantships, which provide a stipend and tuition waiver, are available for some programs. In addition, some departments hire graduate students who do not have GA positions to teach laboratories as Tutorial Assistants.
To learn more about graduate admissions or graduate news and events, visit the College of Graduate Studies & Research webpage. Alternatively, learn more about our programs with this Google slideshow.
Keep in mind, McNair Scholars do not pay an application fee for graduate programs at NMU if their undergraduate institution sends a letter or email verifying their McNair Status.
