Course Description


CJ 480 Cybercrime
4 cr.
Prerequisite: CJ 110, CJ 214, CIS 110 or consent of instructor
Examines the history and current state of the problem of domestic and global cybercrime. The situation involves exploring various types of crime committed with computers, the Internet and electronic devices. Students will learn investigative techniques and legal issues related to the investigation of cybercrimes. Forensic issues addressed will include: recognition of leads, tracking cybercriminals and the collection and preservation of computer-related (digital) evidence.
