Financial Aid Application Procedures

To be considered for most financial aid available through NMU (other than the options on this page), students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in one of the following two ways:

The priority date for maximum financial aid consideration is March 1.

  1. By Internet, for faster, more accurate results. To have your FAFSA processed on the Web, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. For best results, use a Department of Education PIN to electronically sign the FAFSA. PINs can be obtained through www.pin.ed.gov.
  2. By mail. A paper version can be requested by calling 1-800-433-3243 or a PDF of the FAFSA can be printed from http://www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov.
