Shirley and John Berry Endowed Scholarship
The John and Shirley Berry Annual Scholarship will provide financial support for incoming freshman who have demonstrated academic ability and achievement. Preference will be given to students with plans to pursue a major in the College of Business followed by students with plans to pursue a major in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).
Projected outcomes of the John and Shirley Berry Endowed Scholarship include:
? Increased recruitment of high-achieving students
? Elevated academic standards
? Greater recruitment of top level faculty
? Greater visibility for Northern Michigan University and the College of Business
2016 2017 - Varies
Yes. Student may continue to receive the award each year, for a maximum of four years, if student maintains a 3.30 GPA while making satisfactory progress toward their major and degree program as judged by their faculty advisor. Students do NOT need to reapply.
Preferred but not required
First preference will be given to students with a declared major in the College of Business
Second preference will be given to students with a declared major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Final preference will be given to students with declared majors outside of the College of Business or STEM disciplines
Minimum ACT Score: 27 Composite Acceptance and ongoing participation in the Honors Program
