Scott L. Holman Scholarship

Established in 2004 by Scott L. Holman.

Must be full-time student:
Must demonstrate financial need: Preferred, but not required

Additional Requirements
Full time status:  Students enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree must be full time.  Students enrolled in a graduate degree program may be part time.

Students must meet a minimum of two of the following criteria, with preference points awarded to students as follows:

Student is a relative (child or grandchild) of a current or retired employee of Bay Cast Companies (3 pts.)

Student is a descendant or spouse of a descendant of Will and Carrie (Staples) Holman (3 pts.)

Student is from a rural area of the Upper Peninsula (1 pt.)

Student was home-schooled for more than one year (1 pt.)

Student plans to use education to participate or continue in their family-owned/operated business (1 pt.)

Selection Process
Students will participate in the NMU Foundation scholarship application process. 

Qualified applicants will be reviewed by the university selection committee and recommended to the Financial Aid Office for final review.

Notifications to award recipients will begin May 2013 and continue through August 2013. You can view your financial aid information by visiting MyNMU.

Note: If you wish to be considered for need-based awards, you will need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Financial Aid Office.
