Gerald Waite North Wind Scholarship

Established in 2001 by friends and former students of Gerald Waite upon his retirement from Northern Michigan University. This scholarship was created to honor Dr. Waite's longtime commitment and contribution as adviser to The North Wind student newspaper and the quality of education he provided at Northern Michigan University during his tenure.

Additional Requirements

  • Must show outstanding service to The North Wind student newspaper.
  • Must submit a letter of application to The North Wind adviser by February 1st (for the upcoming fall award) describing their service to The North Wind, plus a short explanation of their studies and work ethics at NMU.

 

Selection Process
Qualified applications will be reviewed by the appropriate selection committee. Recipients will be notified by the Financial Aid Office.

Notifications to award recipients will begin May 2013 and continue through August 2013. You can view your financial aid information by visiting MyNMU.

Note: If you wish to be considered for need-based awards, you will need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Financial Aid Office.
