Jackson Scholars Study Abroad Scholarship

The Jackson Scholars endowment was established in 2007 by Gloria and William Jackson to provide funding to students from each of the 15 Upper Peninsula counties for a study abroad experience, either as a concentrated learning experience abroad (CLEA) or as a semester-long program.

Must demonstrate financial need: Preferred, but not required

Qualified students will be residents of the Upper Peninsula.

Preference will be given to those students who have NOT previously had the opportunity to travel abroad.

If you are interested in learning more about what privately funded scholarships are available and which ones you might qualify for, please log in to MyNMU and find the Financial Aid - Foundation Scholarships link on the left hand side under Student Services.

Notifications to award recipients will begin May 2013 and continue through August 2013. You can view your financial aid information by visiting MyNMU.

Note: If you wish to be considered for need-based awards, you will need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Financial Aid Office.
