Dr. Louise M. Bourgault International Student Scholarship

This award was established in 2010 in memory of Louise M. Bourgault, Ph.D, with donations from her family and friends. Dr. Bourgault was a Professor of Mass Communication in the Department of Communication and Performance Studies for over 20 years and an internationally recognized authority on African media and popular culture. Throughout her career, Dr. Bourgault was a tireless champion of internationalization at Northern Michigan University.

Communication and Performance Studies
International Studies
Preference given to students majoring in Communications and Performance Studies, Biology, or International Studies.
Additional Requirements
Students must be enrolled in a NMU study abroad program, with preference to students studying in Africa or other parts of the developing world.
