Brief Overview:
NMU does not offer a master’s degree in theatre, so we have developed a highly successful graduate internship program. The strengths of this are: (1) hands-on training at an advanced level, (2) acquisition of new skills or strengthening of existing skills, (3) design opportunities in any technical area, (4) opportunities to direct, (5) fill any production position of your interest and (6) financial support to stage regional and national auditions. Our productions are student-run under faculty supervision.
Facilities:
The main stage is housed in a proscenium theatre with 532 seats in a continental arrangement. Black box productions take place on a thrust stage in a 125-seat house.

All graduate internships include a teaching assistantship for one class per semester in classes such as Intro to Theatre, Directing Theory, Stagecraft and Acting Classes.
