Transfer Scholars Award

(New - Fall 2010)

 3.50 - 3.74  cumulative transfer GPA; 12 or more college-level semester credits. $1,500 per year.
 Unlimited. Awarded to all who meet criteria. No scholarship application is required.  No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more. Yes, with a minimum cumulative NMU GPA of 3.00; until completion of first bachelor's degree; max 6 consecutive semesters.

Transfer Achievement Award

(New - Fall 2010)

 3.25 - 3.49 cumulative transfer GPA; 12 or more college-level semester credits. $1,000 per year. Unlimited. Awarded to all who meet criteria. No scholarship application is required.  No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more. Yes, with a minimum cumulative NMU GPA of 3.00; until completion of first bachelor's degree; max 6 consecutive semesters.
Transfer Recognition Award

(New - Fall 2010)

 3.00 - 3.24 cumulative transfer GPA; 12 or more college-level semester credits. $500 per year. Unlimited. Awarded to all who meet criteria.  No scholarship application is required. No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more.

Transfer PTK Award

 Member of Phi Theta Kappa and transferred directly to NMU from a two-year college. $500 per year. Unlimited.  Awarded to all who meet criteria.  This award is given upon receiving proof of PTK membership.  No scholarship application is required.  No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more.  Yes, with a minimum cumulative NMU GPA of 3.00; until completion of first bachelor's degree; max 6 consecutive semesters.

Transfer National Academic Award (not available to those receiving Alumni Dependent Tuition Waiver)

 Non-Michigan resident transfer students with a minimum 3.0 transfer GPA in at least 12 transferable college semester credits.

Effective fall semester 2011.

 $4,000 per year. Unlimited. Awarded to all who meet criteria. No Scholarship Application is required. No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more.

Transfer Merit Award

(Through the 2010 Summer Applicants)

 3.50 cumulative transfer GPA; 12 or more college-level semester credits $1,000 per year. Unlimited.  Awarded to all who meet criteria. No scholarship application is required.  No deadline. Must be enrolled full-time - 12 credit hours or more. Yes, with a minimum cumulative NMU GPA of 3.00; until completion of first bachelor's degree; max 6 consecutive semesters.

Scholarships listed here are for eligible U.S. citizens/permanent residents only.

Re-entry Scholarship

Re-entry students may have their original NMU scholarship reinstated if they:

  • were eligible for renewal at the time they left NMU.
  • have not attended another college or university between enrollments at NMU.
  • are within the "consecutive semesters" timeline that began with the original awarding date of said scholarship. Semesters away from NMU do count in the consecutive semesters timeline.
Post-Baccalaureate (post-bac) students are not eligible for our freshmen or transfer scholarships. Other types of financial assistance may be available. Please consult with the financial aid office regarding your eligibility.
