The Financial Aid Office is open from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (ET), Monday-Friday.  We are located in 2107 C.B. Hedgcock. When you visit our office, we ask to see a photo I.D. and you will also need to inform us of your NMU identification number. You can find your NMU IN by clicking on View Account Status at http://myuser.nmu.edu

Financial Aid Award Notification
When will you know about your financial aid package for the 2009-2010 school  year? New students will receive notification through the mail in mid/late March. Current NMU students will receive an e-mail or by visiting MyNMU.

2009-2010 Academic Year:  For maximum aid consideration and to help ensure your aid is in place by the time 2009 fall tuition is due, please file your FAFSA by March 1, 2009.


Financial Aid And Enrollment Changes
If you are making any adjustments to your winter semester schedule, please review the Drop and Add Policy

We will not recalculate Federal Pell, ACG, SMART and TEACH Grants based on a change in enrollment that occurs after Jan. 20.


College Goal Sunday

Financial Aid staff members will be available to assist you in completing your 2009-2010 FAFSA during the national College Goal Sunday.

  • Jan. 12:  First day of the 2009 winter semester

Making Progress

Federal law requires all students who receive financial aid to make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward their degree. Students at NMU must meet all of the SAP requirements.
