Status of university facilities and grounds over holiday break

NOTICE REGARDING UNIVERSITY FACILITIES & GROUNDS:

From Saturday, December 22, 2012 through Tuesday, January 1, 2013, the university facilities will be closed for business. Generally, this means the building temperatures will reside between 58 and 65 degrees F as an energy conservation measure.

Exception: Residence Halls, Campus Apartments, New Science Facility, DeVos Museum, Ripley Heating Plant, portions of the LRC, Services Building, Gries Hall, and West Science.

PEIF and Berry Events Center will only be closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.

University Center – Wells Fargo branch bank will be open on Saturday, December 22.  

Please notify Plant Operations at ext. 2292 this week if you have an event scheduled in a facility other than those noted so that the mechanical systems and lighting in buildings can be programmed accordingly.   

Snow plowing services will be reduced to cover only essential  roads and service areas.

In the event of a significant snowfall, staff will be called in to clear:

Campus roadways

Occupied apartments

Heating Plant

Services Building

LRC loading dock

New Science loading dock

PEIF

Berry Events Center  

University Center – main entrance and loading dock
