Joseph Bates at NMU

Joseph Bates, author of Tomorrowland: Stories (Curbside Splendor 2013) and The Nighttime Novelist (Writer's Digest 2010), will read from his story collection on Thursday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m., in Pioneer B at the University Center.

George Singleton, author of Stray Decorum, has this to say about Tomorrowland:

[The book is] outstanding and unforgettable and universal. It’s like opening up one of those chocolate samplers and finding out that, through a mix-up at the factory, each piece
is your favorite.

Bates’s short fiction appears in such journals as The Rumpus, New Ohio Review, Identity Theory, and South Carolina Review. He teaches in the creative writing program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

This event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the English Department Visiting Writers Program, Passages North literary magazine, and Sigma Tau Delta.
