MET Student Named NMU Student-Athlete of the Month!
Mechanical engineering technology student Brandon Parson was named NMU student-athlete of the month for October. Brandon has been a starting defensive back for the NMU football team for the past 2 years. He also served as a punt and kickoff returner. Brandon has been able to successfully balance the demands of intercollegiate competition with the rigor of the mechanical engineering technology degree program, maintaining over a 3.0 GPA. Brandon also took additional calculus and physics courses beyond what is required for graduation, to support his goal of going to graduate school. Brandon was nominated for the award by Professor Mike Martin, who stated in his nomination form “Brandon is a very conscientious and dedicated student who takes his education seriously and has been a joy to have in class”. Brandon will be graduating this May and plans to either obtain employment in the fire protection field, or pursue graduate studies in Fire Protection Engineering. Congratulations Brandon!!!
