Renewable Energy Courses at NMU
The ET222 Wind Power class recently installed a Southwest Windpower AirX microturbine on the roof of NMU’s Jacobetti Complex as part of the hands-on lab activities in the course. The students assembled and wired the turbine and mounted it on the tower. The project was one aspect of the course which studies the concepts and applications of wind power as a renewable energy resource. This class is part of the Alternative Energy minor offered at NMU which focuses on a variety of renewable energy technologies. The next renewable energy course being offered is ET221 Solar Power in the Fall, 2011 semester.
