Biographical Profile

Cale Polkinghorne is an instructor in the manufacturing technology program. He is a graduate of NMU, receiving his Bachelor’s in Secondary Education in 2005, and his Master’s in Education Administration in 2008. He holds a Michigan Teaching Certificate and several vocational certifications including Machine Tool Operation, Aviation Power Plant Technology, and Aviation Transportation. He was an Aviation Machinist in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1996 through 2000.  Polkinghorne taught at Marquette Senior High School from 2005 to 2008 in the area of metals manufacturing and was concurrently employed as a paraprofessional in the NMU welding program.  His wife Melissa teaches first grade at Cherry Creek Elementary School.
