Enrollment Management

Nationwide, enrollment management is a term in vogue to connote an institution’s seriousness in regard to managing its enrollment. Enrollment management is defined as a systematic, holistic process that integrates the university’s vision and institutional characteristics, processes, and procedures with student characteristics and decision-making processes to achieve optimum student recruitment, retention, and graduation goals. At Northern Michigan University, the primary vehicle for managing enrollment is the Enrollment Management Network.

The Network developed Northern Michigan University's original enrollment plan, and its ongoing charge is the annual updating of that plan. An important role of the Network is one of informing and involving the university community in recruitment and retention efforts on behalf of the university.
