NMU received an overall score of 68 out of 70 in Michigan Department of Education's Teacher Preparation Institution Performance Scores for Academic Year 2007-08, resulting in an "exemplary" classification by the state. Full story

NMU Professor Sandra Imdieke is the chair of the 2009 Batchelder Award Committee, which selects the most outstanding children's book originally published in a foreign language and country, then translated into English and published in the United States. Full story
