Two NMU students have been awarded elite Gilman Scholarships for fall 2009. Robert Neumann, a senior criminal justice major from Felch, received $2,500 to study in Russia. Jordan Wilson, a senior management major from Manistee, was awarded $5,000 to spend the year at exchange partner Kajaani University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
The Gilman Scholarship Program is an awards competition that supports study abroad for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year institution. It was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000.
