Mr. Michael L. Klein has been a member of law enforcement community since joining the United States Navy in 1982 as a Hull Maintenance Technician/Master at Arms. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve in 1987 as the Command Master at Arms and retired as a Command Chief/Senior Enlisted Advisor in 2002. Mr. Klein has also been a Road Patrol Officer/Corporal for three different Police Departments during the past twenty-three years. He joined the Northern Michigan University Public Safety Department in 1994 and has served there ever since. Mr. Klein has also taught at the Regional Police Academy as a field trainer in First Aid, C.P.R., report writing, drunk driving (O.W.I.) law and arson investigation. Mr. Klein has also been a volunteer Fireman/E.M.T. Lieutenant with the Negaunee Township Fire Department. Mr. Klein is an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout leader in Marquette and Negaunee. He is also a United States Special Deputy Marshal for the Western District of Michigan as of 2002.
Mr. Klein holds an Associate degree in Applied Science from 1991, an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice while minoring in Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration from 2007 and recently, Mr. Klein has received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice as of December 2013.
Mr. Klein enjoys spending time at camp with his wife of twenty-one years Ami; his daughter Kendra and his son Kolton. He also enjoys the watching “The Big Bang Theory,” four-wheeling, hunting and fishing.
