Trooper MacMasterTrooper receives top honors in Marquette County

MARQUETTE COUNTY -- Trooper Christopher MacMaster (left) was the man of the hour at Wednesday morning's Officer of the Year Awards.

MacMaster was named the top cop in Marquette County for his positive attitude, professionalism, and investigative work on several breaking and entering cases.

First Lieutenant Robert Pernanski (right) awarded MacMaster with a trophy and plaque.

He says he feels truly honored to be recognized.

"I appreciate it a lot, the recognition is nice but there's so many people that deserve recognition for the work that they do out in the field," said MacMaster.

Trooper MacMaster joined the Michigan State Police in the Upper Peninsula in 1994.

Since then, he's held several positions, including Polygraph Examiner.
