Michigan Association of Real Estate Appraisers (MAREA)

MAREA was founded in 1993 with the gathering of 35 Michigan real estate appraisers who’s goal was to form a statewide association for the purpose of promoting continuing education opportunities for appraisers. Membership is open to all Michigan real estate appraisers; associate members may include other interested persons and organizations such as lenders and government agencies. Today, MAREA membership has grown to approximately 400 members.

Benefits include:

Dues are $125 for one-year membership and $200 for two-year membership. Members are entitled to substantial discounts on tuition.

If you have specific licensing questions, contact the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (DLEG) at 517-241-9295. A wide variety of information is available at  www.michigan.gov/appraisers. Appraisers may also use this web site to search for approved continuing education courses and review the continuing education credits recorded for their current licensure year.
