2013 HAZWOPER Jacobetti Complex, NMU

The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) regulation 29 CFR 1910.120 is administered and enforced by OSHA/MIOSHA.  The regulation applies to all General Site Workers (equipment operators, general laborers, and supervisory personnel) and Occasional Site Workers (sampling surveying, other transitory tasks) engaged in any activity which potentially exposes workers to hazardous substances and health hazards. 


Regularly scheduled HAZWOPER classes have concluded. Call 906-227-2103 for availability.

The 8-hour Annual Refresher course is required annually after completion of the 40-hour Initial course. $175

The 24-hour Technical course qualifies people for the Occasional Site Worker level for work on known or potentially contaminated sites. $500

The 40-hour Full Initial course is for General Site Workers on known or potentially contaminated sites.  It also meets classroom / instructional requirements for Supervisors. $750

NMU's Jacobetti Complex is located on Sugarloaf Avenue (Big Bay Road) approximately 1/4 mile north of NMU Public Safety and across from the Tourist Park entrance. Campus map.

Customer site training
We'll provide on-site training by arrangement with six or more attending.
