Honors Status

Any student graduating with honors will be notified by the Degree Evaluations Office. Honors for graduation are determined as a result of the candidate's overall grade point average, not including the semester just completed. Degree honors will be recalculated after final grades for the semester have been submitted and recorded.

Honors graduates can purchase honors cords to display at the commencement ceremony from the NMU Bookstore for $6.00 (plus tax).

Honors classification is:

• Summa Cum Laude: 3.8 and above
• Magna Cum Laude: 3.6 to 3.79
• Cum Laude: 3.30 to 3.59
