Choral Society Begins Spring Rehearsals

Rehearsals for the Marquette Choral Society Spring Concerts begin on Monday, January 14, 2013, at 7 PM in the Choral Room of the Thomas Fine Arts Building at Northern Michigan University. Concerts will be on April 27 and 28 at Reynolds Recital Hall.

The Spring Program will be taken from the "Chantry Choirbook." This is a selection of sacred choral music from the Lutheran tradition, spanning the music of Schütz and others in the 17th century to Distler and other 20th century composers. Dr. Floyd Slotterback directs the group.

The Choral Society is open to all interested singers. No audition is necessary. Singers may join any time during the first three rehearsals, up to January 28.

There will be a modest fee for music and membership. For more information, call the NMU Music Department at 906-227-2563.
