The Marquette Choral Society has awarded their 2010 Upper Peninsula Choral Leadership Award to N. Lynne Koski Lanczy.
The award will be presented during the Marquette Choral Society concert at Reynolds Recital Hall on the NMU campus on April 24 at 7:30 pm and April 25 at 3:00 pm.
Ms Lanczy is Staff Piano Accompanist at Northern Michigan Universityfor the University and Madrigal Choirs. She is Director of Music at St. Louis the King Parish in Harvey, and the Musical Theater Director for Northern Michigan University and for the Vista Theater. She also accompanies the Marquette County Chamber Chorale and the Marquette Male Chorus.
Ms Lanczy has bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Education from Northern Michigan University, the University of Wisconsin / Milwaukee and the University of Michigan.
The Marquette Choral Society instituted the Upper Peninsula Choral Leadership Award in 1991 to recognize persons who have made significant contributions to choral music over an extended period. Criteria for receiving the award are at least ten years of service to choral music, and demonstrated excellence in teaching, conducting, or support for quality choral music in the Upper Peninsula. The Award is in its 19th year.
