How to Join Marquette Choral Society

Marquette Choral Society holds weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings. They start at 7:00 and end at 9:30 PM. The chorus has two rehearsal cycles during the NMU academic year. The first rehearsal of the Fall Semester cycle is on the first Monday after Labor Day. For the Winter Semester cycle, the first rehearsal is on the first Monday of the semester. This is the first or second Monday of January, depending on the particular year.

Membership is open to any member of the community who has an interest in singing the repertoire the Choral Society sings. There is no audition requirement.

While it it best if interested new members begin with the first rehearsal, the window of opportunity to join is kept open until the end of September for the Fall Semester cycle and through the end of January for the Winter Semester cycle.

Members are expected to attend all rehearsals. To join, come to one of the first rehearsals of a cycle and sign up. The rehearsals are held in the Choral Room, B-101 of the Thomas Fine Arts Building on the NMU campus.
