Lucian Hunt Award

Levi Ekanger is the 2012 winner of the Lucian S. Hunt Award. This award is given to a graduating senior who is outstanding in academic achievement, committed to the chemical profession, and has a high potential for success in chemistry or chemistry-related research as a career. In addition, the award recipient must have completed two semesters of undergraduate physical chemistry. Levi worked on a research project, "synthesis and characterization of the 2, 2' biscarboranyldifluoroborate anion" with Dr. Tom Getman for the past two years. Levi is from East China, Michigan and will be attending graduate school at Wayne State University of Detroit Michigan this fall.

Outstanding Graduating Senior

Alex Ling is the 2012 outstanding graduating senior in chemistry. This award is typically given to the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in a chemistry major. Alex graduated summa cum laude with a perfect 4.00 GPA in biochemistry. Alex is from Bigelow, MN.

Biochemistry Award

Jenny Jarvis won the department's 2012 award in biochemistry. This award is made for outstanding academic performance in biochemistry. Jenny is chemistry ACS certified and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the May 2012 commencement ceremony. She is from Niagara, WI.

Analytical Award

Kelly Aldrich won the department's 2012 award in analytical chemistry. This award recognizes academic excellence in quantitative analysis and chemical equilibrium. Kelly is a biochemistry major from Manistique, MI.

Alchemist Award

Brennen Jaquint is the recipients of 2012 Alchemist Award. This award recognizes academic excellence in two semesters of organic chemistry and is given to the top student(s). Brennen is a sports science major and involved with the USOEC weight-lifting team. He is from Evansville, WI.

Freshman Chemistry Award

Cole Swiston received the 2012 outstanding academic performance Award for outstanding  
academic performance in two semesters of general chemistry. Cole is a sports science major.

 

 

Griffith Chemistry Scholarship Award

The Griffith Chemistry scholarship awardee for 2013 has not yet been announced.
