Bay Cliff Health Camp is located in Big Bay, Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior. Founded in 1934, Bay Cliff is one of the oldest and most comprehensive summer therapy programs for children with physical disabilities in the United States. Bay Cliff is believed to be the only facility of its kind. Each summer, 180 children ranging in age from 3 to 17 years, are referred to Bay Cliff for Physical, Occupational, Speech, Hearing, Vision and Music Therapy. Extensive recreation and camping activities provide the children with a well-rounded experience. It is at Bay Cliff where children have learned to communicate clearer, pour their own milk, dress themselves, maneuver their wheelchair better, and even learn to walk! It’s all about the kids – building self-esteem, gaining independence, and leading a fuller life. Bay Cliff is a very unique program which offers an amazing opportunity to learn about children with special needs. Although the work is challenging and the hours are long, Bay Cliff offers a tremendously rewarding experience – “the hardest job you will ever love!" We are looking for applicants for our summer therapy camp who are dependable, caring, enthusiastic, energetic, positive, able to get along well with others, and who have a love for children. We hire staff for an eight week period: June 9 - August 4, 2013. Bay Cliff's staff, numbering at about 140 persons, come from all parts of the United States. Positions are available for Camp Counselors, Therapists (including new grads), Nurses, Activity Instructors, Lifeguards, Secretaries, Maintenance Aides and Kitchen and Dining Room Staff. Salary plus room and board will be provided for all staff positions. This is a great hands-on opportunity for college students, especially those studying health care, education, outdoor recreation, food service, communication, and leadership development. The greatest reward is the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child!

Camp Daggett offers eight one-week coed camping sessions starting in mid-June and ending in mid-August. Campers range in age from 7 through 14 years. They are housed in rustic cabins designed for 10 campers and 2 staff members. The program answers a child's search for adventure in an environment that is upbeat and wholesome. The Camp Daggett summer program develops a feeling of acceptance, respect and courage that campers can take home with them. Camping provides an environment which enables children to live, learn and develop skills that are useful at any age. Activities include: group sports and games, sailing, swimming, canoeing and fishing, arts and crafts, nature study, hikes, camp fires and camp outs, adventure ropes courses, and archery.

We are a Scout Camp in Munising, Michigan that runs four weeks of Boy Scout Camp, half a week of Webelos, and half a week of Cub Scouts. We also have one week of staff training before camp starts, from June 29-August 11. Scouting background is not required but encouraged, and we have a coed staff. We are looking for a Head Cook, Ranger, Commissary Director and Commissary Assistant Director in the Services area. We are also looking for 2-3 Lifeguards, a High Adventure Director, a Welder, Outdoor Skills Director, and Ecology Director in the Program Areas.

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (OGJVAMC) is located in Iron Mountain, MI, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The facility oversees six community Outpatient Clinics (OPCs) located in Ironwood, Hancock, Marquette, Sault Ste. Marie (Kincheloe), and Menominee, MI, and Rhinelander, WI. It also operates a Rural Health Outreach Clinic in Manistique, MI. OGJVAMC and its OPCs /Rural Outreach Clinic annually serve 20,000 Veterans. OGJVAMC has the largest geographic patient service area east of the Mississippi River, encompassing fifteen Michigan counties and ten counties in northeastern Wisconsin. It is home to approximately 57,400 Veterans, 25,895 of whom are enrolled in VA’s health care system. OGJVAMC employs 658 staff at its main facility and OPCs, including 62 licensed physicians, 164 nurses, and 58 mental health professionals that provide primary and selected secondary health care. OGJVAMC is a primary and secondary level care facility with 17 acute care beds, 13 in the medical/surgical ward and 4 in the intensive care unit (ICU). The main facility provides limited emergency and acute inpatient care, and collaborates with larger VA Medical Centers in Milwaukee and Madison, WI, to provide higher-level emergency and specialty care services. OGJVAMC also provides rehabilitation and extended care, including palliative and hospice care, in its 40-bed Community Living Center. OGJVAMC provides ambulatory and acute health care in areas of audiology, diabetes, dentistry, ear/nose/throat (ENT), geriatrics and extended care, general medicine, home-based primary care, mental health, neurology, oncology, optometry/ophthalmology, orthopedics, palliative/hospice, physical and occupational therapy, prosthetics, podiatry, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychiatry, radiology, sleep studies, speech, spinal cord injury (SCI), substance abuse, surgery, urology, weight management, and women’s wellness. OGJVAMC is a leader in rural health care delivery in VHA, and employs state-of-the-art telehealth audio visual technology. Telehealth has greatly improved access to specialty care for rural Veterans by bringing these services closer to the Veterans’ homes. OGJVAMC currently supports telehealth for primary medical care and 24 specialty care areas, including many of the services noted above.
