Susy Ziegler (Earth, Environmental and Geographical Sciences) is among internationally known experts in geography and related fields appointed to the editorial review board for Geographical Review (GR), the flagship publication of the American Geographical Society. Since 1916, GR has reported the leading research focused on geography and related disciplines. The Editorial Advisory Board will be involved in deciding the direction and goals of the GR, in appraising submissions and recommending reviewers, and in contributing to some of the journal’s special features.

Brian Zinser (Business) presented "Determinants of American Muslims' Intentions to Use Retail Islamic Banking and Financial Services:  An Application of the Theory of Planned Behavior” at the Global Islamic Marketing Conference May 6-8 at Istanbul University in Turkey. The paper shares the same title as Zinser’s dissertation, which he successfully defended to earn his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in marketing from the Falls School of Business at Anderson University.

Greg Warchol and Robert Hanson (Criminal Justice) did a special presentation for the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning. The presentation examined the causes, history, participants and outcomes of the 30-year struggle in Northern Ireland commonly referred to as the Troubles.

The Center for Student Enrichment thanks the following NMU faculty, staff and retirees who volunteered to mentor participants in the Student Leader Fellowship Program during the 2014-15 academic year. The SLFP is recruiting new mentors for 2015-16. If you or someone you know is interested in serving as a mentor, please call ext. 1771 or e-mail slfp@nmu.edu for more information.
