Josh Macivor-Andersen spoke on a panel focused on the pitfalls of religious writing at the 2013
Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference in Boston.
Beverly Matherne (English) presented the following two bilingual performances of her poetry at an international poetry festival in Spain: the Setmana Catalunya-Amèrica series, titled Sons poètics transatlàntics, at Museu Romántic Con Llopsis in Sitges; and in the Poesia: cicle poètic de l’Obrador de Recitacions i Noves Actituds Literàries, at l’Horiginal, in Barcelona. Both featured music and dance accompaniment by Carrie Biolo, Maria Formolo and Clara Biolo Thompson. The same crew assisted Matherne in performing six of her blues and prose poems in the Marquette Symphony concert series at the Besse Center in Escanaba. She also did a bilingual performance of her blues and prose poetry at CROSSROADS: 3RD Binghampton International Literary Festival and appeared as a guest writer in a series called “The Writing Life,” both at Binghamton University.
