Marek Haltof’s (English) book titled Polish Film and the Holocaust: Politics and Memory—a Choice Outstanding Academic Title for 2012—has just been published in paperback by Berghahn Books in New York. Earlier this year, Haltof was invited to contribute an essay on Polish cinema for “Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema,” a North American tour of 21 restored Polish classics curated by the director.

Yuba Gautam (Health and Human Performance) coauthored “Water, Heat, Drought and Public Health in the Midwest USA-2012,” which was published in Health, Environment & Education. It reviewed the conditions and effects the hottest year on record in the United States had on the environment and people’s health. Each of the contiguous 48 states had above-average temperatures, with 19 setting record high temperatures.
