Beverly Matherne (English) reported some recent poetry readings. At the launch of the new anthology Voices Israel: Poets from Israel and Abroad held at Congregation Darach Amuno, in Greenwich Village, N.Y., she read two new poems contained in the anthology. Matherne also read in the “Walking Tour Along the Hudson” in New York City and at the International Poetry Festival sponsored by Shabdaguchha: An International Bilingual Poetry Journal as part of the Jamaica Book Fair in Queens, N.Y. She did a blues poetry performance with flute accompaniment at an open house at Ragdale House, the site of residencies for writers in Lake Forest, Ill. Readings in the Upper Peninsula included a panel presentation at West Iron District Public Library in Iron River for the U.P. Book Tour and a Falling Rock Cafe event in Munising.
