"Our overall goal at the university is to help our students become independent learners....
It's not to create artists. It's not to develop historians. It's to help people become independent learners -- -- and that's even more important today given the rate of change.... You have to be an independent learner to succeed."

CAMPUS is the newsletter for faculty and staff of Northern Michigan University. It is published every other week during the academic year and monthly during the spring and summer sessions. The goal of CAMPUS is to inform the university community about news and events happening on Northern's campus, report national, state and regional news related to NMU and its members, and feature professional and other accomplishments of university employees.
