Marquette City Band Performance at Reynolds Recital Hall, C.B. Hedgcock Building

The Marquette City Band under the direction of Dr. Stephen Grugin, NMU Director of Bands will perform its first ever winter concert.  The repertoire will include John Philip Sousa's "The Freelance March"; Gioacchino Rossini's "Scherzo for Band"; two short pieces by Percy Grainger; and a medley from George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" that will feature alto saxophone soloist Betsy Grugin. Another highlight of the program will be "Olympic Fanfare and Theme" by John Williams, conducted by NMU music alumnus Matt Mitchell.  The concert is free of charge.
