Joan has spent the last 20 years of her career working for Quebec, Canada’s Economic Development Team at the Quebec Government Office in Chicago (est. 1969) where she provides strategic business development and marketing expertise to 400+ manufacturers and key industry association/government partners located in Quebec, Canada. As a member of Quebec’s Midwest Team, Joan also contributes to the development and execution of Quebec’s political and economic missions in the Midwest. She is Quebec’s Food Industry Expert in the Midwest. She has developed, pioneered, executed and offered strategic input towards some very successful promotional initiatives for Québec’s Food Industry, such as: the first national maple products promotion in the USA, Do More With Maple!; and Québec Makes Your Brand!, a promotional tool targeted at the international private brand industry; as well as Foods of Québec, since 1534; and Québec is Cooking! Her marketing work has been featured in numerous national industry and consumer publications. Joan’s role encompasses three Ministry (Department) teams: the MRI (Quebec Ministry of International Relations); the MESI (Quebec Ministry of the Economy, Science and Innovation); MAPAQ (Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food). The Quebec Government operates 7 offices in the USA (Boston, NY, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, LA/Silicon Valley, Washington DC) and 25 offices worldwide. Quebec’s offices promote trade, culture, education, environment, investment and politics.
