CareerLeader Assessment

The CareerLeader Assessment is based on over 50 collective years of scientific research and career development experience. It examines students’ business-relevant interests, motivators and skills to match them to specific business-related careers.

As part of the College of Business Profession Program (aka The Passport Program), students can take the assessment free of charge. After completing the assessment, students are provided a detailed planning strategy for successfully pursuing the right career. The assessment covers the entire career search process, from interviewing tips designed specifically for each student, to how to decide what offer to accept.

To match students with the best career choices, the assessment is broken up into three parts:

Business Career Interest InventoryStudents working on a laptop

    Discover interests in business

    *Approximately 30 minutes

Leadership Motivations Profile

Prioritize what motivates students in their work

    *Approximately 15 minutes

Leadership Skills Profile

    Identify students’ top career-relevant skills

    *Approximately 15 minutes

The CareerLeader Assessment is a great opportunity for all Passport students to learn about their interests, motivators and skills to ensure that they end up on the right career track. To take advantage of this opportunity, Passport students must e-mail Tony Plemmons (aplemmon@nmu.edu) and request access to the assessment. The assessment will take approximately 1 hour to complete; students are encouraged to plan accordingly.
