Overview of Admission to the College of Business

The College of Business will use the university-wide admission policy for admission to the College. Student's progress toward a degree will be managed by individual course prerequisites.

Transfer and Returning Students

Transfer students looking to graduate with a degree from the College of Business must complete at least 32 credit hours (24 within the College of Business) after admission to the College.

Students who drop enrollment from Northern Michigan University and, subsequently, re-enroll as a business major at a later date (re-entry students) must reactivate their admission to the College of Business and meet the minimum admission requirements prior to being approved for readmission.

Advanced Placement Credit

Beyond the university's advanced placement credits, advance placement credit is available through testing for those students who have already obtained some office and computing skills through classes or work experience. Tests are given upon request and documentation of work experience.
