16. The Television Community Service grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for WNMU- TV, in the amount of $575,661, for the period October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2005, under the direction of Mr. Scott Seaman. 

 

17. The grant from the Michigan Department of State Police – Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, for a project entitled "Law Enforcement In-Service – 2004", in the amount of $304,513, for the period January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004, under the direction of Mr. Kenneth Chant.

 

18. The revised Radio Community Service grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, for an additional amount of $18,425, bringing the total award to $190,744, for the period October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2004, under the direction of Mr. Scott Seaman.

 

19. The Radio Community Service grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in the amount of $175,815, for the period October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2005, under the direction of Mr. Scott Seaman.

 

20. The grant from the Michigan Department of Education under Section 99 of the State School Aid Act to improve mathematics and science instruction in Michigan, in the amount of $57,716, for the period October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004, under the direction of Dr. Debra Thatcher.

 

21. The Television Local Service grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, for WNMU-TV, in the amount of $37,745, for the period October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2005, under the direction of Mr. Scott Seaman.

 

22. The Television Interconnection grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, for WNMU-TV, in the amount of $12,638, for the period October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2004, under the direction of Mr. Scott Seaman.

 

23. The Canadian Studies Faculty Research grant from the Canadian Embassy, Academic Relations Office, for a research study on the impact of eliminating "Holy Crow" on prairie agriculture, in the amount of $8,000, for the period December 8, 2003 through February 15, 2005, under the direction of Dr. Michael Broadway. 

 

24. The subcontract between Northern Michigan University and the National Institutes of Health, Modification #1 for the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, to conduct research on auditory processing of signals in noise, for an additional amount of $22,750, bringing the total award to $45,500, for the period April 1, 2003 through March 31, 2005, under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Prosen.

1.   That the 2005-2006 Reduction in Force (RIF) Plan be approved as attached. (Backup)

 

2.   That University operations be authorized to continue in 2004-2005 at a budget level no greater than the 2003-2004 budget until the new General Fund Budget is approved, except that increases required by existing or newly negotiated union contracts, Fiscal Year 2004-2005 BAC reductions, and Fiscal Year 2004-2005 President's Council reductions will be implemented. 

 

3.   That the 2004-2005 Auxiliary Services Operations Budget, in the Auxiliary Fund, be approved.  Copies of the budget are on file with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. (Backup)

11. The new recital hall in the renovated gymnasium of the C.B. Hedgcock Fieldhouse on the campus of Northern Michigan University be named the Reynolds Recital Hall in recognition of a gift from Phyllis and Max Reynolds Jr., longtime friends of the University.
